Zen Zinnias Into Sunset ~ FOTD

I’m in my late forties. Can you believe I had never heard of or grew Zinnias until last season? I bought some seeds at the store in 2019, not really knowing what they were. I planted a few in a spot in the ground and I planted some in a pot and then I forgot!

I ended up pulling the ones out that I planted in the ground because I thought they were weeds. Shame on me! I let the ones in the pot grow but I had forgotten what they were and I almost pulled them out, too, but I let them bloom and figured out they were Zinnias.

I did some research, found they were beneficial to pollinators, easy to grow and colorful so I went to town in my yard this year because they are also truly deer resistant! What more could I ask for? I ordered some from Amazon (California Giants) and I ordered a whole bunch from Eden Brothers (Carousel Zinnias) and I will never live without them again!

Please enjoy the below video I filmed of the the activity and sunset located in this year’s zinnia patch which is in the same area I had pulled them all out last year. They are so beautiful.

Have a beautiful evening, Everyone!

I’ve never grown them either but now that I know this I might. Amazing video! That looked like a very large cat! What was it?

    1. Thank you for reading and watching! I forgot to add that the Zinnias do well to separate garden veggies as well and bring pollinators closer to your veggies. The cat is actually the youngest of our 3 cats. If you are talking about the one slinking across the grass. He also seems to be the most muscular which my husband and I were just commenting about earlier. He’s actually still kind of small but he’s stretched out in prowl mode in the video….
